Programs & Enrichment 

Art: Through our contracted local, professional artist vendor each Los Cerritos student receives unlimited pre-recorded, thoughtfully crafted  applied art lessons to represent diverse and modern art to our students.

Assemblies: The PTA provides the students with the opportunity to attend fun and educational on-campus assemblies throughout the year.

Fifth Grade: The PTA funds the celebration of our oldest students

Garden with GroundEd: All Los Cerritos students receive monthly garden, science, and sustainability lessons through our partnership with local non-profit, GroundEducation.

Green Initiatives:The green initiatives are led by a group of parents and students who encourage Los Cerritos to become more environmentally conscientious.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: The team introduces multicultural perspectives into our children's experiences at Los Cerritos Elementary, focusing on introducing students to cultural traditions, role models, and history that reflect the school’s diversity.

Red Ribbon Week: A week-long event that is a district-wide and teaches kids about the dangers of drugs. Themed days and an assembly help to inform kids.

Reflections Art Program: The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. Participation is free and a great way for students to explore and learn about various art forms. Workshop held after school on the lunch benches, students can work on their art piece for the Reflections program. Some art materials are provided, but students may also bring their own.

Scholastic Book Fair: (October)  Stop by the book fair in the auditorium. The PTA receives 50% of profits back in Scholastic Bucks credit, which is used to provide books for the students, school library and classroom libraries. 

Spirit Wear: (September) Providing the opportunity, every fall, to show your Los Cerritos school spirit spirit by purchasing Los Cerritos branded merchandise.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation: The PTA provides gifts, lunch or other goodies throughout the year to celebrate incredible teachers and staff. We also provide teachers with funds to help teachers stock their rooms with supplies and celebrates the teachers with a week-long celebration, where Room Parents coordinate small tokens of appreciation (letters, pictures, flowers, snacks, etc.) on the themed day.

T-shirt Contest:(January) Each student has an opportunity to create a logo for a t-shirt. Each grade will vote on their grade's winning logo to be printed on a t-shirt. Every student then receives a free t-shirt with the winning logo from their grade.
