DONATE AND JOIN THE PTA TODAY

Becoming a member of the Los Cerritos PTA does not require you to volunteer, but your dues help the PTA at the State and National to advocate for our children. However, Los Cerritos pays $4.95 of every $10 membership to the Local and State PTA.

We plan to spend $175 per student this year on programs and events and tax deductible donations help us raise enough money to provide programs, such as

  • Monthly Garden lessons
  • Monthly Art Lessons
  • Community Events
  • Teacher grants
  • Field Trips
  • And more!

All donations receive at least 1 membership.

PROGRAMS ENRICHMENT

  • Art Program: Through our contracted local, professional artist vendor, every month each Los Cerritos student receives, thoughtfully crafted applied art lessons to represent diverse and modern art to our students.
  • Assemblies: Part of the PTA budget goes toward providing all students at Los Cerritos with the opportunity to attend fun and educational on-campus assemblies throughout the year.
  • Fifth Grade: To celebrate our oldest students, the PTA funds the fifth grade promotion.
  • Garden with GroundEd: All Los Cerritos students receive monthly outdoor garden, science, and sustainability lessons through our partnership with local non-profit, GroundEducation.
  • Green Initiatives: The green initiatives are led by a group of parents and students who encourage Los Cerritos to become more environmentally conscientious, including weekly recycling and an annual Goodwill Drive.
  • Red Ribbon Week: A week-long-event that is district- wide that teaches kids about the dangers of drugs. Themed days and an assembly to get kids on board and informed.
  • Reflections Art Program (September/October): The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. Participation is free and a great way for students to explore and learn about various art forms. Workshop held after school on the lunch benches, students can work on their art piece for the Reflections program. Some art materials are provided, but students may also bring their own.
  • Scholastic Book Fair (October): Kids can browse the makeshift library in the auditorium before and after school. PTA receives 50% of profits back in Scholastic Bucks credit, which is used to provide books for our school library and classroom libraries.

  • Teacher Appreciation:Once per quarter the PTA provides lunch for the teachers and staff, provides funds to help teachers stock their rooms with supplies and celebrates the teachers with a week-long celebration, where Room Parents coordinate small tokens of appreciation (letters, pictures, flowers, snack, etc.) on the themed day.
